Elementary RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
This program is for children grades K-8 who are not enrolled in a Catholic school.
Volunteer opportunities exist for catechists and catechist aids. Catechists are still needed. If you have expressed an interest in being a catechist, but have not been contacted, please call Theresa Roberts, 882-0724, ex. 225.
K-6 Religious Education - Wednesdays, 6:30PM--8:00 PM. Begins September 9, and meets weekly approximately 3 times a month. In addition to Wednesday night, families attend "Family Life" sessions approximately five Sunday evenings during the school year.
7th and 8th Grade Jr. High Religious Education - Sunday Evenings: 6:15PM--7:45 PM. Two Sundays a month will be Religious Education for students who do not attend a Catholic school. One Sunday evening a month will be EDGE, for all parish Jr. High youth. All Jr. High youth will also attend "Famiy Life" sessions.
Home Religious Education is an option for families who cannot attend either Wednesdays or Summer Intensive (two weeks in June). The Faith formation Office offers support and resources for use in the home. If there is an interest, we will help organize a family cluster for home school. Families will work together to teach and learn the Catholic faith within a small church community type of atmosphere. Families also attend "Family Life'.
"Family Life" is a requirement of the Archdiocese to promote healthy families and chaste living. Catechists are required to be trained specifically to teach age appropriate curriculum. Parents will also be included in "Familly Life" with parent sessions while their children attend their age appropriate session. Specifics of "Family Life" will be given at the beginning of the religious education school year.
Summer Intensive Religious Education - This program is offered the last two weeks of June as an alternative to school year RE.
